I can hardly wait for the spring to really arrive. The dog walks will get longer along with the days. I know Frida is looking forward to it. So it saddens me that the creation of the Association is dragging along so slowly. We need members in order to comply with the city's policy for a leash free park. I know that I always dread the big blue truck coming through the park- even when we are walking on leash. It is sort of creepy to feel like a criminal even when you comply with the law.
So Please! If you haven't already sign up today, make you friends and family members too so we can get a park for our fine furry friends.

We need more members!
These are early days, and we are happy to have a growing membership. But we need more members. According to the rules of the City of Toronto, an active Dog Owners Association is required to make the application to City Hall. "City Policy (1) Dog owners interested in establishing a leash free area in a City Park must establish a local dog-owner association.)"
It is not enough to agree, you have to get involved. And wouldn't it be great to have a collective of other dog owners and dog lovers so we can not only get the much needed Leash Free park, but also so we can have doggie events, and maybe even some sort of doggie sponsorship. The potential is great and totally unharnessed (forgive the pun).
So sign up your neighbours and friends. Encourage other dog owners to sign on. But we need everyone to become an official member. Your support, although welcome is just not enough!

Welcome
A big Hello! to our newest members, Finny and Boch and their human friend Ed. Although Finny has a day job, he still finds time to play and frolic on the hillside. He takes a bit too much guff from little Boch (who is not so little anymore) but he is definitely top dog!

Welcome!
I'd like to welcome our friend Charlie the dog and her human companion Cara to the CSS Dog Owners Assoc. I know Charlie is a very healthy and happy year old Labrador, who loves to romp and play. She has a gentle and sweet personality and is a charm to know.
